Seattle City Light replacing utility poles along 3rd Avenue NW

by | Oct 12, 2016

Seattle City Light this week is replacing aging utility poles along the east side of 3rd Avenue NW from NW 65th to NW 75th streets. They’ll also add new transformers where needed. Crews are expected to work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday.

  • Maintenance power outages are required to do the work safely. Notification will be provided in advance of outages. The notification will specify the date, time and duration of the outage.
  • Crews will reduce traffic/parking impacts by working one area at a time. However, traffic will be restricted and “No Park” signs enforced in work zones.
  • The new poles will be placed alongside pre-existing poles. Pre-existing poles will be removed once the transfer of all utilities is done by other companies. Seattle City Light will monitor these efforts to facilitate the removal of old poles.
  • Due to traffic restrictions, pole delivery must occur between 4 – 6 a.m. Customers should expect some noise associated with off-loading the poles.

Check out the project’s webpage for updated information and a map of the work area.
