Family variety show, storytelling, live music and theater in Greenwood-Phinney Ridge this weekend

Here are some highlights of what’s happening in the neighborhood this weekend. Check our Events calendar for more.

Storytelling with Steph at 11 a.m. Friday at Phinney Books, 7405 Greenwood Ave. N.

Plant Care Clinics at 1 p.m. Friday at the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St.

Phinney Farmers Market from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.

“Godspell” at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., continues through Aug. 15.

“Game Night Gone Bad!” at 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at The Pocket Theater, 8312 Greenwood Ave. N.

Art Studio Open House and Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 909 N. 78th St., in the alley between 77th and 78th streets.

Free Boxing Power Hour at 11 a.m. Saturday at Title Boxing, 112 N. 85th St.

Cascadia Irish Music Week Farewell Concert from 8-10 p.m. Saturday at the PNA, in the Brick Building.

Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell (all levels welcome) from 2-4:15 p.m. Sunday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N.

Evan’s Family Variety Show from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the PNA in the Brick Building. Free, but you need to reserve a ticket online.

There’s a lot going on downtown this weekend, so beware of traffic.

  • Seafair Torchlight Run & Parade is Saturday, which will affect transit service throughout downtown starting at 3 p.m. Check out Metro’s Service Advisories page for reroute info.
  • Seattle Dragon Boat Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at South Lake Union Park.
  • And the Mariners play Toronto at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 1:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.
