LOL for having a Safeway Deli on the restaurant site!! That being said, the deli’s fine, nothing especially fabulous or awful about it. However… I’ve completely stopped shopping at that Safeway for produce or meat. The produce isn’t particularly fresh, but worse than that, the last 2 times I looked in the meat display case, the prepared meat was MOLDY and still for sale. No kidding. Good 1/8″ tall fuzzy white spores on the kebabs and some of the steaks. Which meant that all the other meat in the case was exposed to the same spores and probably starting its own moldy little culture.

The first time I saw it, I notified a store manager and assumed it was an oversight (things like this happen in stores occasionally). The second time, I notified the manager and the health department and stopped buying meat there.

I find it hard to believe that the meat counter employees wouldn’t notice that the product is not only ‘off’ but moldy. My concern is that the same attitude may be present in the other departments…
