Simon is PAWS Pet of the Week

June 22nd, 2010 · Comments

Update: Simon has been adopted.

This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Simon.

Simon is a big ol’ bear cub with a stubby little tail and a cool Rorschach pattern on his face. He is friendly, gentle, and loves catnip. With some regular laser pointer time and portion control, this pudgy fella will be back to his fighting weight in no time! He has lived with both cats and dogs in his 6 years.

Simon is waiting to charm you at PAWS Cat City (8503 Greenwood in Seattle). He is neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. During June (Adopt a Shelter Cat Month), his adoption fee is only $50! Cat City is open Tue, Wed & Fri noon – 6 pm, Thu noon – 7 pm and Sat – Sun 11 am – 5 pm.

Simon just went home with a Phinneywood fan!

But we didn’t realize he was such a celebrity until after we had already adopted him and Marnie (formerly Bauble). They were up with the birdies at 4:30 this morning to make sure we were on the job and then went back to sleep themselves.

There’s nothing like life with kitties.

Simon was under my bed purring for a long time last night. The windows are now open with screens and a perch for each cat. Lovely breezes, with plenty to look at outside. They’re both being lavished with attention, and they seem very happy to be here. Both have sweet meows and are great conversationalists. They are just what this place has needed for a long time!

Thanks for the updates! I went to see if I could adopt Simon and was sad to see that he was already gone. But I’m very happy he has a great new home!

  5. We’re thrilled to hear that they are already so happy at home! Give ’em some scritches for us!

Simon and Marnie seem to be loving it here. Simon likes to sleep on top of the bed now with me, and Marnie sacks out on the living room couch. Simon started jogging…well once, accompanied by thunderous paw noises on the hardwood floors. He’s looking slimmer already. Maybe it’s all that exploring in the basement. Marnie is still the star with the laser pointer and I’m hoping she will never figure it out. They’re slowly getting to know each other, usually around the food bowl. Athough Simon seems to be the alpha cat, Marnie is really confident and brave around him. Love my new kitties!
