The Seattle Public Library says it has temporarily closed the Green Lake branch after the discovery of mold in the basement. “A city industrial hygienist identified the mold Stachybotrys in an air sample of the crawl space,” reads the message on the library’s site. “While a sample in the meeting room above the crawl space did not contain any Stachybotrys, library administrators decided to close the building as a precaution until additional air quality testing is completed and the mold can be removed.”
If you’ve held a book at the Green Lake branch, you can pick it up at the Greenwood branch, but you’re asked to call ahead first, (206) 684-4086. The library does not have an estimated time to re-open the facility.
