Bella Vita at 7315 Greenwood Avenue is kicking off the season with a thoughtful lineup of experiences that invite neighbors to create, relax, and connect. From hands-on art to full-body sound immersion, there’s something here for every pace and interest.
The celebrations continue on Saturday, January 10th, with a drop-in Community Valentine Making Day. Bella Vita is turning love into artwork by inviting neighbors to create valentines that will go into the shop’s front window display. With heart-shaped cards and an impressive array of markers on hand, visitors can pop in anytime from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to contribute to the growing wall of heartfelt notes.
On Wednesday, January 14th, the mood shifts from festive to restorative with a Sound Bath and Meditation led by Meri Sulcer of Grounded Sound Healing LLC. From 7 to 8:30 p.m., guests will be guided through a calming, full-body listening experience using crystal bowls and gong, designed to create space for deep relaxation and clarity. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring items like mats, blankets, and pillows for support. This sober, fragrance-free event welcomes anyone seeking a meaningful reset in the new year.
Next up is a four-week Watercolor Workshop Series running Wednesday evenings from January 21st through February 11th. Each session explores a different aspect of watercolor, beginning with foundational techniques and gradually moving into composition, experimentation, and the creation of a final personal piece. The series is ideal for both beginners building confidence and returning artists looking to expand their creative toolkit.
Rounding out the offerings on Sunday, February 8th, internationally recognized silhouette artist Karl Johnson returns to the shop for a day of Hand-Cut Portrait Sessions. Johnson creates classic paper silhouette keepsakes in just a matter of minutes, charmingly accommodating children, adults, and even pets. Each original silhouette is $35, and guests are encouraged to reserve one time slot per person.
With events that highlight artistry, wellness, and community connection, Bella Vita is proving once again that neighborhood retail can be so much more than shopping. Whether you’re making valentines, lying under a gong’s vibration, or learning how watercolor blooms, these winter gatherings offer a warm reason to get out and engage.
