The Phinney Neighborhood Association is forming a volunteer committee to guide our annual Lunar New Year event. Since our inaugural event in 2022, this event has become a treasured neighborhood tradition, and we’re seeking community members who can advise, steer planning, contribute creative ideas, and lend a hand on the day.
We’re looking for committee members who:
- Have lived experience with, or strong ties to the Asian cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year
- Value inclusive, community-led programming
- Can attend a handful of planning meetings and help with specific tasks
- Are available to support on event day (set-up, welcoming guests, wayfinding, activity support, pack-down)
What the committee will do
- Shape event themes and activities
- Advise on cultural integrity and best practice
- Help the PNA forge community partnerships and connect with local performers and businesses for elements like the artist marketplace, performances, décor, and food
- Promote the event through local networks
- Support smooth on-the-day operations

- Planning: attend a few meetings in the lead-up and post event (all meetings held in the Phinney Center Upper/Blue building)
- Monday 12/15, 6:30-8pm
- Monday 1/12, 6:30-8pm
- Monday 2/17, 6:30-8:30pm (decorating party)
- Event support: Help support on the day of event
