Beloved PhinneyWood eatery Mr. Gyros grand re-opening event will take place at 8535 Phinney Avenue North on Sunday, March 16 from 3-5pm – exactly 9 years and one week after a PSE gas explosion leveled their original location. Mr. Gyros is inviting the community to join in the celebration and experience the renewed warmth and flavor of the restaurant. and enjoy some free delicious food as well.
Mr. Gyros had been a cornerstone of the Greenwood neighborhood for over 14 years, known for its friendly atmosphere and high-quality Greek cuisine. When the gas explosion occurred in 2016, it left the restaurant and several neighboring buildings in ruins. Despite the challenges, Mr. Gyros was determined to return. The restaurant’s re-opening is a testament to the enduring spirit of Greenwood and the restaurant’s dedication to its community.
“Nine years ago, we never could have imagined this moment would come,” said Sammy Arsheed, co-owner of Mr. Gyros. “The Greenwood community, our friends, and our customers have been incredibly patient and supportive through this journey. We’re thrilled to once again serve the delicious, authentic Greek food that people have missed so much.
