Seattle Fitness Week (SFW), the region’s first multi-day fitness event, has announced its official launch date, March 6-15th. Spearheaded by PhinneyWood’s own Seattle Strength & Performance (7408 Greenwood Ave N), provides an enjoyable, accessible solution designed to bridge this gap and help locals achieve their personal wellness goals.
From strength training at SSP to low-impact movements at Pure Barre and everything in between, this event offers a diverse range of workouts that ensure every participant – from athletes to wellness newcomers – will find their perfect fitness match.
Seattle Fitness Week allows locals to explore the area’s robust gym and fitness studio landscape, trying new workouts and fitness routines alongside others enjoying the same experience. Sweetgreen, a newcomer to the region specializing in delicious, healthy salads, bowls, and plates, is the marquee sponsor of the event. The community-focused restaurant has locations in Capitol Hill, South Lake Union, and The Village at Totem Lake, Kirkland.
Seattle holds a reputation as one of the most physically active cities in the nation, however, according to The Seattle Times, only 18% of residents hold gym memberships, revealing significant untapped potential for community fitness engagement.
How Seattle Fitness Week Works:
- Attendee Experience: Fitness enthusiasts can purchase a $49 SFW event pass, granting access to sessions and classes at dozens of participating studios citywide including, Pure Barre, Ampersand Fitness, NW Fitness Project, HIIT Lab, Village Fitness, Seattle Boxing Gym, Rowdy Box, Junction Hot Yoga, Community Fitness, Dragon Fly (Yoga/Pilates/Dance), CycleBar and many more.
- Gym Participation: Studios offer a variety of session times during the 10-day event, with free participation and opportunities for increased exposure through sponsorship.
- Community Impact: All proceeds from pass sales will support three local nonprofits: Girls on the Run, which offers evidence-based programs to inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and build confidence; Lambert House, dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ youth; and Within Reach, which helps people navigate health and social service systems.
“Our mission is simple: to bring more people through the doors of Seattle’s gyms and studios,” expressed Seattle Strength & Performance owner and SFW founder, Chris Travis. “In a city as active as Seattle, we’re seizing the opportunity to connect residents with a variety of fitness spaces that embody our shared passion for helping people find fitness as part of their lifestyle. The inaugural Seattle Fitness Week will be a game-changer for our community!”
