Two-part screen printing workshop at Dabble November 9th and 16th

by | Nov 7, 2024

This month at Dabble (306 N 83rd St) you can learn to screen print – a great technique for t-shirts, posters, tote bags and whatever else might occur to you. This is a two part workshop. You can sign up for just part one (Saturday, November 9th from 11am – 1pm), just part two (the following week) or both.

Part one of the workshop you will create your designs, print them on transparencies and then “burn” them onto a silkscreen. We will also introduce and practice coating and preparing screens for exposure. Come with a one-color design in mind or in progress (one-color is a design that uses one color of ink to go on any color of t-shirt). Digital or hand drawn designs are both workable.

Part two is the actual printing. You will walk through setting up the press, ink selection, printing, curing and cleaning screens afterward. You can print on shirts, tote bags, paper and whatever else you would like to bring in.

Price includes supplies and equipment. Screens remain property of Dabble but your designs will be kept on them for one month afterward (if you come in to print on your own). Afterward the screens will be reclaimed for reuse. You can purchase your screen to keep for $40.
