Ballard High School brings musical theatre back to life with Disney favorite Beauty and the Beast

by | Mar 14, 2022

The Ballard High School Playmakers invite the community to “be their guests” as they return to live performance with the musical Beauty and the Beast. This is Ballard’s first live musical theatre in two years! The show is based on Broadway’s modern classic with songs from the beloved animated film. Come enjoy the tale of a young selfish prince transformed into a Beast, and a young woman named Belle whom he imprisons in his castle. To become a prince again, the Beast must learn to love Belle and win her love before his 21st birthday.

“Ballard High School theatre is back with in-person performances and we want everyone to celebrate with us!” says BHS Theatre Director Shawn M. Riley. “This is a moment for the whole family to be part of something whimsical, and for Ballard’s students to sparkle after performing virtually these past two years.”

The cast features 36 BHS students, and the play is directed by Shawn M Riley.
