We are excited to announce that we have received a grant from the City of Seattle to update and improve the Phinneywood Blog! Through the Department of Economic Development’s Neighborhood Economic Recovery Fund, we are now engaging in re-creating our decade-old blog to be more accessible, more user-friendly, and a better tool for our businesses and organizations to get the word out about their events and developments.

Some of the upgrades planned for the new site:

  • Hyperlocal job board
  • Local events calendar
  • Comprehensive business listings, including happy hours and sales
  • Weather/UV/Air quality tab for our area
  • Self-publishing Lost & Found tab
  • Crime blotter

We would love to showcase iconic imagery from the neighborhood for each of these tabs, and are putting out a call to the community for high-resolution shots to submit for consideration in being featured on one or more pages of the new site. Have an incredible shot of a dinner at FlintCreek? A snow-covered Alice Ball Park? A shot of the Olympics with the sun setting? Send anything and everything that screams PHINNEYWOOD to you and would be excited to share with the neighborhood blog followers. All shots can be submitted to Chris at [email protected]. Please make sure the photographer’s full name and any other details are included.

Thank you!
