POP UP ALERT! Wunderground Coffee and Delancey Seattle are teaming up tomorrow (Saturday 9/18) from 11am – 4pm at Essex Bar in Ballard to give you a preview of their upcoming cafe menu, a collaborative cocktail menu, and coffee. All proceeds from the event will benefit the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center.
The menu will include Spicy Portobello Mushroom Sandwich, Fermented Beet Grain Bowl, the Brainchild Bone Broth, and Mushroom Chocolate Granola. Essex will be showcasing the cocktail menu from 4 PM – Midnight.
Wunderground Coffee was founded by Jody Hall of Cupcake Royale, and bills itself as “the world’s best tasting and most efficacious mushroom coffee and tea.” WC uses only premium Arabica coffee and all of mushrooms are “fruiting body” and grown on wood. They are opening a café in Capitol Hill mid-October so this is a chance to preview some of the goods. Per Dani May: “We’re excited for people to learn why effective ratios and a fruiting body matter in order to feel the benefits of Chaga, Reishi, Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps. And no, you will not experience a weird mushroomy flavor, just amazing coffee and tea.”
