Nutty Squirrel debuts another community fundraiser for local schools

by | Feb 14, 2021

Hello Phinneywood, we have some exciting news to share from Nutty Squirrel Gelato.

Nutty Squirrel Gelato, known for their “Gelato Taco Tuesdays” and other fundraisers for community schools, is finding new ways to continue being a neighborhood activator during Covid. Owners Alev and Tolga Seymen just launched a new fundraiser “Gelato Box,” which is already very popular with the community. Here are some thoughts from Nutty Squirrel’s husband and wife team, Tolga and Alev Seyman.

Alev: We are so excited to introduce this new Gelato Box, which is available at Nutty Squirrel Stores, as well as our online shop for delivery. We are calling it “Community Cookie Kit”. The Box includes 2 Pints of Gelato, and 8 Frozen Cookies from the local La Liath Bakery, who has been our family’s go-to Farmers Market baker, for delicious cookies and other yummies! The Box also includes a pack of premium melting chocolate and Nutty Stash Sprinkles. As a final touch, we worked with local artist Sean Hoyt to design a Seattle sticker to include in the box.

Tolga: We are always looking for fun activities to do with the kids around the house. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen as a family. We thought other families would enjoy making gelato sandwiches with their kiddos as well. And the idea was born.

Alev: We already have a strong relationship with all the schools in our neighborhoods. We reached out to them and asked if they would like to participate; they loved the idea! You see the Community Cookie Kit is $30, and $5 of the purchase goes to the PTA of your choice. This is a perfect 1 stone many birds moment! We get to share our love for baking with family, we get to introduce other local businesses to our neighbors, our community comes together to support their schools… and everyone gets a delicious treat!

Tolga: The Fundraiser will run through the end of March. Make sure to order your Kit today. And thank you for your support!
