Sparkling and refurbished Rub-a-Dub Dog reopens

by | Jun 7, 2020

Rub-a-Dub Dog , the self-service dog wash keeping neighborhood dogs clean since 1997, reopened on Thursday June 4th with a brand new look, and new Covid-19 procedures in place to keep everyone safe.  Owner Carrie Schenken and her partner Sydney Jackson made the most of the 10 week “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” closure by completely remodeling the space with new non-skid tile flooring, and beautiful subway tile tub surrounds.  In order to keep costs down, the two did all the tile work themselves spending every day for the past 2 months getting the shop ready to reopen – truly a labor of love.

In order to manage new occupancy requirements, Carrie has started taking online appointments for self-service dog washes on their website www.rubadubdog.biz. Appointments are spaced out to avoid more than one customer entering at a time.  Other changes include requiring a mask be worn, thorough sanitizing of all surfaces and products used during the bath, and online prepayment for services to minimize contact.

Full-service baths and toenail clipping services are still available by appointment.  Please call 206-789-5311 to make a reservation.

It has been a long wait to reopen, but you won’t be disappointed with the changes!
