Celine Patisserie is still a local favorite serving up European style desserts and novelties. After the Governor’s announcement, owner Alexei Bucos moved quickly to bring his confections to online orders.

Like most local small businesses, April was a really tough month. For Alexei, his staff was reduced by nearly half, business had slowed down significantly and the most challenging part was convincing customers to order online. This was really worrisome and not the steady growth trajectory that he had envisioned for his shy of three year’s business. Fortunately just a month later, the tide had turned, and business started to pick back up in May. Customers purchased gift-cards and eventually acclimated to online ordering with no-contact in-store and curbside pick-ups.

Today, Alexei is managing pretty well and offering his regular menu including his top sellers; custard filed croissants in Earl Grey, Pistachio and Coconut flavors. Alexei feels really grateful for the support of the community and says, “We have been really blessed by the customer response and pray to go back to normal safely one day.”
