Our food banks need your support during the coronavirus outbreak

by | Mar 11, 2020

One of the unforeseen consequences of the coronavirus has been a reduction in donations of fresh groceries and non-perishable food to our food banks. FamilyWorks is a Wallingford Food Bank that provides weekly groceries to people in need of food who live in our neighborhood and many others.

This has caused an immediate impact on FamilyWorks’ ability to provide Emergency “No-Cook” Food Bags, PowerPacks for local students, and grocery delivery to seniors and home-bound adults. As the situation evolves, we expect to see further disruption to our food banks, and increased hardship on our participants.

In addition to donations of cash, FamilyWorks is asking for donations of the following, in order to meet the needs of our emergent community:

  • Baby Food
  • Canned Fruit & Veggies
  • Canned Soup & Chili
  • Canned tuna & other meats
  • Cereal
  • Crackers
  • Granola Bars
  • Juice Boxes
  • Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pudding Cups
  • Soap
  • Tissues
  • Toilet Paper
Bring your non-perishable food to the Wallingford Food Bank at 1501 N. 45th St. Or, visit their donation page on our website to make a cash donation that will be used to purchase food.

Thank you for helping your community in this time of need!
