Sustain Music Project concert Sunday at the Taproot

by | Oct 18, 2019

The Sustain Music Project is a classical music ensemble that performs chamber music concerts that collaborate with other disciplines to create immersive experiences. They are committed to using music to point towards social justice and inclusion.

This Sunday, SMP is teaming up with New Beginnings – a local organization assisting domestic violence survivors – to co-produce a concert at the Taproot Theater. The purpose is to tell the stories of domestic violence and how our community can help eradicate it through music. “This program of six musical compositions takes listeners on the journey experienced after trauma: shock, grief, and isolation that can be transformed into joy, peace, and hope for the future,” writes Artistic Director Christina Medawar.
