Security and Safety Meeting for District 6 Apartment and Condo Residents tonight

by | Oct 17, 2019

Last week, two thieves stole a truck in Queen Anne and piggybacked behind a resident’s vehicle into a secure parking garage in Ballard. They parked and taped a door latch open to get in later. An alert resident removed the tape and informed management.

Fast forward a day. Two people attempted to distract the manager while attempting to drill through the door lock. This attempt failed. The truck was returned to its owner. The thieves have not yet been apprehended.

Crime rates, policing levels and other matters that directly relate to public safety in Seattle are on the table. Both D6 City Council candidates, the Captain of the North Precinct, and Mary Amberg from the Seattle Police Department will talk about physical security measures and protecting each other by waiting for garage doors to close and not letting strangers into the building. They will clarify who to call if an emergency situation arises.
