One of the hidden gems within our community happens every Friday night in the lower brick building of the Phinney Center: the beloved Emerald City Contra Dance.
Contra dance is a social folk dance that is led by a caller and always involves a live folk band. No partner or prior dancing knowledge is needed, just show up for the beginner workshop ready to learn and dance. Contra is an excellent workout, a ton of fun, and a great way to meet new people and interact with a vibrant community.
