Homework Help volunteers needed and school supply drive at FamilyWorks

by | Jul 24, 2019

The Seattle Public Library is seeking Homework Help volunteers who have a passion for helping elementary, middle and high school students succeed in school. The 2019-2020 Homework Help program will be offered from September 9, 2019 through June 11, 2020.

Volunteers tutor students in all academic subjects and may also specialize in English, math and science. Most of the students at Homework Help attend elementary and middle schools. Volunteers interact with children and teens in small groups and individually. For more information, please read the attached Homework Helper volunteer service description and watch a short video.

If you would like to join us as a Homework Helper this coming school year, please complete the online Homework Help volunteer application by July 31.

Also, FamilyWorks is having a school supply drive that runs through August 12. Click here to view the School Supply Donation page and learn more about donating items or buying discounted supplies in bulk through their partner, Blu School Supplies.

FamilyWorks will also be partnering with six organizations (including WithinReach, North Seattle Family Resource Center, and El Centro de la Raza) to bring a Resource Fair on the same day as the School Supply program. In addition to quality school supplies, families will get access to a variety of resources to help them thrive throughout the year.
