Gumshoe detective walk in August needs two people to ‘test drive’ this year’s clues next week

by | Jul 6, 2018

Gumshoe Answer Man Mike Veitenhans is looking for two people to help “test drive” the clues for this year’s 13th annual Gumshoe detective walk through the neighborhood. The Gumshoe runs Aug. 3-19; he needs test walkers during the week of July 8-14.

The test drive takes two to three hours, with volunteers solving the clues out loud as Mike trails behind, eavesdropping so he can fine-tune them—the clues, that is, not the volunteers. In return for their help, each volunteer receives a free entry form to do the Gumshoe during its 17-day run in August. If you’d like to help, email [email protected].

This year’s Gumshoe proceeds will be split evenly between the Greenwood Senior Center, Greenwood Elementary School PTA and Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church Food Bank. The Gumshoe has raised more than $56,000 for neighborhood nonprofits since 2006.
Entry forms are $20 each ($15 each if you buy two or more) and will be available beginning Aug. 3 at Ken’s Market, Couth Buzzard Books and the Phinney Neighborhood Association.
