Deadline to name new Greenwood park extended to June 30

by | May 22, 2018

Our neighborhood now has an extra month to submit ideas for naming the new park next to the Greenwood Library.

Construction on the park, which spans the entire east side of Greenwood Avenue between 81st and 82nd avenues, will happen this summer and should be finished this fall.

The park will have an open lawn, natural play elements, a plaza with seating, loop path and lots of plants. A raised crosswalk will connect the park to the library.

You can find criteria for naming parks here. The Parks Naming Committee will consider all suggestions and make a recommendation to Interim Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent Christopher Williams, who will make the final decision.

Submit suggestions for names, along with an explanation of how your suggestion matches the naming criteria, in writing to [email protected], by June 30.
