High school mentors needed for Greenwood Library’s Learning Buddies program at North Seattle Boys and Girls Club

by | Jan 30, 2018

Seattle Public Library hosts a Learning Buddies program that pairs up high school mentors with elementary students for an hour every week to practice literacy, logic and math skill building. High school volunteers can earn about 20 hours service learning credit.
The Greenwood Library is looking for teen mentors for its program, which meets at the North Seattle Boys and Girls Club, 8635 Fremont Ave N. on Wednesdays between 3:15-5:15 p.m., from March 21-May 23 (except April 11, during Spring Break). There is a mandatory orientation from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N.
If interested, call the Greenwood Teen Services librarian at 206-684-4086 and ask for an application. Preference will be given to students who have attended Boys and Girls Club, YMCA or other after-school or tutoring programs.
