Taproot Theatre’s holiday show is Mark Brown’s “The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge” from Nov. 18 through Dec. 30.
In an unbelievably bold move, Ebenezer Scrooge has charged Jacob Marley and the Christmas Spirits with trespassing, kidnapping, assault and battery: certain proof that he’s reverted to his old disagreeable self. Can the goodness and grace of Christmas survive? Full of laughter and goodwill, this is a delightful twist on Dickens’ classic tale.
Post-play discussions with Taproot cast members and staff are after every Wednesday performance and after the Midweek Matinee performances at 10 a.m. Nov. 30 and 2 p.m. Dec. 6. The performance at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 is Pay-What-You-Can, with a limited number of $10 tickets available at noon in person or by phone; beginning at 5 p.m. that day, tickets are name-your-own-price for in-person purchase only.
An Intergenerational Matinee is at 10 a.m. Nov. 30 for $10 for student/chaperone tickets, play guides and a guided post-play discussion. Tickets not available online.
Senior Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 21 for those 62 and older. Tickets not available online.
