‘Dance Your Cash Off’ to support the students at Bureau of Fearless Ideas

by | Sep 21, 2016

The Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas, our neighborhood’s free tutoring and writing center for kids, is hosting its annual “Dance Your Cash Off” fundraiser from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, at Hale’s Palladium in Fremont. This year’s theme is “Electric Karaoke Boogaloo.”

Dancers must raise at least $50 in donations to be eligible for dancing and prizes.

*Oh yes, there are PRIZES. Registered dancers earn “style points” for costumes, for moves, for great hair, or for great attitude, with top points-havers winning FABULOUS PRIZES. We are amassing a vast array of amazing giveaways including restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays, free services, and free stuff from all over Seattle, to be bestowed upon dancers throughout the evening. Plus, GRAND PRIZES include special packages for the highest fundraising team and individual, the team and individual dancer with the most style points, and best karaoke performance!

Our celebrity judges include acclaimed filmmaker Lynn Shelton, powerhouse performer Sarah Rudinoff, actor and impresario Rebecca Mmm Davis, comic El Sanchez, and artist and SubPop receptionist Derek Erdman!

Register yourself or your team online.

And just in case you missed it, BFI and its fundraising storefront, Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co., recently moved back into headquarters at 8414 Greenwood Ave. N. after their building was seriously damaged in the March 9 natural gas explosion. The store was closed during those six months and tutoring moved to the Phinney Neighborhood Association. Both reopened for business two weeks ago.

Both the store and tutoring center are looking for more volunteers. Check out the info here.
