Give your input on planned park by Greenwood Library

by | Jun 10, 2016

Seattle Parks and Recreation is asking for public input on the design of a new park that will be built on the site of a nearly empty strip mall at 8100 Greenwood Ave. N. and the adjacent Bleachers Pub. The park will cover the entire east side of Greenwood Avenue North between 81st and 82nd streets, just north of the Greenwood Library.

The city has already purchased the land. Development money — $750,000 — is coming from the Seattle Park District.
The two buildings are scheduled to be demolished this fall. Cascade Design Collaborative will design the park this summer and fall. Construction will take place winter through fall of 2017.
During the Greenwood Car Show on June 25, stop by the site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an open house to ask questions and provide your ideas. You can also take an online survey. They’ve even got a Pinterest page where you can post ideas.
