Metro routes 5, 26 Express, 28 Express and the RapidRide E Line will be rerouted off of southbound Aurora Avenue North between Dexter Way North and Denny Way overnight Monday and Tuesday due to construction.
The reroutes will happen from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
During this time, heading toward downtown Seattle these routes will travel instead via Dexter Way N, Dexter Av N, 7th Av, Bell St, 6th Av and Wall St, then on to their regular routes.
Heading toward their north end destinations, these routes are not affected and will serve their regular routes and stops.
The lane closures are because Washington State Department of Transportation is installing supports for the overhead signs for the future State Route 99 tunnel. All traffic will be detoured to exit onto Dexter Avenue North, just past the south end of the Aurora Bridge. Local access will be maintained.
