Insurrection Performance, at 8403-1/2 Greenwood Ave. N., is moving everything out of its shop, which was heavily damaged by the March 9 natural gas explosion, and into storage. However, they’re still open for online business and by appointment at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., where they’ve rented a room for customer appointments.
Over the last 10 years the store has morphed from western apparel and boots to vintage clothing and now to leather motorcycle gear.
This morning a crew from Servpro, which specializes in fire and water cleanup and restoration, was at the store, cleaning and boxing up everything to put in storage. Insurrection’s Sally (who didn’t want her last name used) told me the blast separated the north wall from the ceiling and then water poured into the back room, making the structure unstable.
“The water damage in the back was a big surprise to me,” she said. “We’ll come back when we can.”
In the meantime, customers can call the store at 206-550-3545 to make an appointment to view off-the-rack items as well as for measuring and fitting for custom orders.
