Día de los Muertos and ‘spooky’ teen art and poetry at the Greenwood Library

In honor of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N., is hosting a miniature sculpture calacas workshop from 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29. Participants will learn to mold and sculpt miniature skeletons using air dry clay. All ages; no registration required.

The library also is hosting a teen art and poetry contest with a “spooky” theme. The contest is open to anyone ages 10-18. Entries are due to the library’s Information Desk by 6 p.m. on Oct. 23. Winners will be announced on Oct. 28. Art may be in any medium: photography, painting, drawings, collage, etc. Poetry should be no longer than one page. Participants may submit up to two entries total. All entries will be displayed at the library. Pick up an entry form at the library.
