Storytelling, film series, farmers market, live music in Phinney-Greenwood this weekend

Here are a few events happening in and around the neighborhood this weekend. Check our Events calendar any time for more.

Storytelling with Steph, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday at Phinney Books, 7405 Greenwood Ave. N.

First Friday Film Series showing “Bernie” from 1-3 p.m. Friday at the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St.

Phinney Farmers Market from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.

Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents Jump Ensemble for Jazz First Fridays at 7:30 p.m.; and Songwriters in Seattle, featuring Eric Dodd, Isabelle Keller, Steven Bishofsky and Roo Forrest with Crispin Faget and Laurie Lynne Tucker at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

(Stand-Up Style) Comedy Showcase at 7 p.m. Sunday at Naked City Brewery, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N.

Traffic wise, the Sounders play at CenturyLink Field at 7 p.m. Saturday (about 35,000 people are expected). And, of course, Bumbershoot runs Friday through Monday at the Seattle Center (50,000 are expected each day).

Metro Transit will operate a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday in observance of Labor Day, so be sure and check your bus schedule.
