Artwalk, farmers market, theater and music in Phinney Ridge-Greenwood this weekend

Here are a few highlights of what’s happening in the neighborhood this weekend. Check our Events calendar any time for more.

Phinney Farmers Market from 3-7 p.m. in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.

June Art Up PhinneyWood Artwalk from 6-9 p.m. Friday at dozens of galleries and other businesses throughout the neighborhood. Check out the artwalk website for a list of all participating artists and a map.

Pacific NW Folklore Society presents Busker Fest with Reggie Miles, Hobbit & Hare and Jeane Towne at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. Couth Buzzard also hosts Community Sing from 12-1 p.m. Saturday, and Jim Page in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Looking ahead to next week, Wallingford author David Shields will read from his new book, “That Thing You Do With Your Mouth” at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The very funny “Jeeves Intervenes” continues for one more week at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St.

Cat adoption event from 12-3 p.m. Saturday at the PNA, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.

Free trial Fitness Kickboxing class from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Emerald City Karate, 8314 Greenwood Ave. N.

Traffic-wise:

  • The Rock ‘n Roll Marathon will close streets downtown for much of Saturday and cause many buses to be rerouted.
  • The University of Washington’s 140th annual commencement ceremony at Husky Statdium on Saturday will bring about 40,000 people and lots of cars to the U-District.
  • Seattle Pacific University’s commencement is Saturday afternoon at KeyArena, with about 10,000 people expected.
  • Seattle University will hold its commencement Sunday morning at Key Arena.
