Educational Homestay Program needs host families for Spanish, Chinese students this summer

by | Apr 6, 2015

Educational Homestay Program, a program of Education First, needs host families in Phinney Ride and Greenwood and other neighborhoods to house students from Spain and China this summer. The Spanish students will be here from June 24 through July 21, and will spend two days each with program staff on activities and outings around Seattle. The rest of the time will be spent with host families.

Chinese students need host families from July 23 through Aug. 11. These students will attend language and culture classes and other planned activities with EHP staff Monday-Friday.

Families must be able to provide a room (shared is fine), 3 meals per day, travel to a nearby course center, and – most importantly – a stable caring environment, where families are open to share their life with an eager student from abroad. This is a volunteer program, however there are many benefits to hosting with EHP:

• $100 travel discount for EF Tours for every student you host.

• Passport Program: Earn up to $500 in travel reimbursement for flights, hotels and car rentals!

• Earn community service hours by hosting an international student. An official letter of community service will be signed by EF at the completion of the program.

For more information, see the program’s website, or email [email protected]. And you can watch a video about the program here.
