Candidate Forum for new City Council District 5 is March 11

Now that seven of the nine City Council positions will be elected by district, candidates must live within the district they’re seeking to represent. The new District 6 covers all of Ballard and Phinney Ridge and part of Greenwood. The new District 5 covers Greenwood north of 85th Street, extending from Puget Sound on the west to Lake Washington on the east, up to 145th Street.

On Wednesday, March 11, the community councils of Greenwood, Broadview, Haller Lake and Pinehurst are hosting a candidates forum from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Ave. N. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) Come ask questions of the candidates and let them know your priorities for the district.

No current city council members live in District 5, but six newcomers have entered the race (not all have websites up and running yet):
