Saturday is Neighbor Appreciation Day

by | Feb 12, 2015

Seattleā€™s annual Neighbor Appreciation Day, on Saturday, Feb. 14, began right here in Phinney Ridge in 1995 when Judith Wood suggested a way to honor fabulous neighbors. Community groups and businesses all across the city now celebrate the Saturday before Valentine’s Day with special activities, such as block parties, potlucks and work parties.
In our neighborhood, Fire Station 21, at 7304 Greenwood Ave. N., is celebrating the day by having an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Down the hill at Green Lake, Evans Pool is hosting a free potluck lunch around the pool from 12-2:30 p.m. with music by the Sauna Lizards Band and free swimming from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
You can check out the official events calendarĀ for events around the city, and send an e-cardĀ to your favorite neighbors.
