Veterans Day: What’s closed

by | Nov 11, 2014

We salute all those who are currently serving or have ever served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Thank you for your service.
Veterans Day is a national holiday, which means all federal offices are closed, as well as the U.S. Postal Service, most banks and credit unions, all library branches and Seattle Public Schools. On-street parking is free on Tuesday.
Most Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed, including community centers, environmental learnings centers, indoor swimming pools and the Green Lake Small Craft Center. However, boat ramps, city golf courses (Interbay, Jackson Park, Jefferson Park and West Seattle), and the Amy Yee Tennis Center will be open.
Metro Transit will operate on a reduced schedule on Tuesday. All Metro offices will be closed, including Metro’s Customer Information, Lost and Found and pass sales offices.
Woodland Park Zoo is offering free admission to all active, retired and veteran U.S. military personnel and their spouses with valid service identification. Up to four accompanying family members with valid ID will receive $5 off regular zoo admission on Tuesday.
