Missing cat? Not really, it’s just the annual Gumshoe scavenger hunt

Neighborhood volunteer Mike Veitenhans has been teasing us lately about how many stories we’ve been posting about missing cats. So he thought maybe his annual Gumshoe 5K Walk scavenger hunt could use the same tactic in publicizing the 10-day fundraising event, which begins Friday. Take it away, Mike:

This cat, Clueless, has been missing since he took a wrong turn in last year’s Gumshoe 5K Walk. This year’s ninth annual fundraiser on behalf of the Greenwoods — Senior Center, Food Bank and Elementary School PTA — begins Friday, August 1, runs through Sunday, August 10, and offers the opportunity to explore the neighborhood and win over $1,000 in prizes! Entry forms are $20 for a single, but just $15 each when two or more are purchased at the same time. The forms go on sale August 1 at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, PhinneyWood Starbucks, Ken’s Market and Couth Buzzard Books-Espresso Buono Cafe. By the way, if you find Clueless (aka Seth Thomsen), his owner-parents, Greg and Rhonda, ask that you tell him they’ve moved and left no forwarding address.

Last year’s Gumshoe raised more than $5,000 for the Greenwood nonprofits. And it’s a lot of fun to do with friends.
