Greenwood Seafair Parade is tonight, rain or shine!

by | Jul 23, 2014

Just a reminder that the 64th annual Greenwood Seafair Parade will close streets in downtown Greenwood tonight for the oldest Seafair-sanctioned parade. Thousands of people will line Greenwood Avenue and 85th Street. The parade begins at 6 p.m. at North 95th Street and Greenwood Avenue North, heads south to 85th Street, then west to 6th Avenue NW. The parade should end around 8:30 p.m.

Greenwood Avenue will be closed for several blocks north of 95th Street as parade entrants line up.

Parade organizer Ann Woodward says the parade will happen rain or shine. (The only reason to cancel would be lightning strikes.)

The parade theme is “Touchdown Greenwood,” and the grand marshal is Blitz, the Seahawks mascot. Pony rides will be available for $6 starting at 10 a.m. at North 92nd Street and Greenwood Avenue North.

Email us your favorite pics from the parade and we’ll post them the next day.
