Celiac disease fundraiser tonight at Chuck’s Hop Shop

Ballard teen Dominick Cura, who wrote a gluten-free cookbook for all those living with celiac disease, is hosting a fundraiser from 6-8 tonight to send 400-500 of his books to the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center to include in its gluten-free care packages that it sends to children with celiac disease.

The fundraiser is at Chuck’s Hop Shop, at NW 85th Street and 8th Avenue NW, right on the Ballard/Greenwood line.

Dominick will be raffling off a ton of prizes:

$20 Drawing Prizes

  • 2 tickets to Taproot Theatre and a $20 certificate to Razzi’s Pizzeria

Prizes will be drawn at 7:45 p.m., you need not be present to win.

Urban Nomad will be there, offering a variety of gluten-free pasta dishes, and Portland’s Harvester Brewing will offer four gluten-free beers.
