Phinney Center renovations get underway next week with new elevator

by | Jul 17, 2012

The Phinney Neighborhood Association is finally ready to install an elevator in the Blue Building, just one part of the major Capital Campaign, which will bring the Phinney Center up to ADA and seismic standards, and create a more welcoming campus with a community plaza and better entryway.

The current front door of the PNA is actually the back door fire escape. The renovations include a more welcoming entryway.

The elevator will be installed in part of the current front door foyer. Construction on the elevator begins next week, and the PNA is celebrating with free ice cream and balloons during the Phinney Farmers Market from 3-7 p.m. Friday.

During construction, the Farmers Market will move down to its original spot in the lower parking lot, beginning July 27. The Blue Building will remain open during construction, but access may be limited at times, so please watch for signs. Parking in the upper parking lot also will be impacted, so try not to drive if you can.
