Greenwood glass artist wins two international awards

Greenwood glass artist Karen Mahardy has won two awards at the Bullseye Glass Company international kiln-glass exhibition for emerging artists. Mahardy’s piece, titled “folded 1a and folded 1b,” won in two categories: Academic and Newcomer.

Mahardy is currently completing her MFA in glass sculpture at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.

The Emerge 2012 exhibition will run at Bullseye Gallery in Portland until June 23, then selected works will travel to the New Mexico Museum of Art and Bullseye Resource Center Bay Area.
