Boys & Girls Club teens holding fundraiser for work in Haiti

by | Feb 14, 2012

A group of teens from the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club in Greenwood is hosting a fundraiser on Feb. 25 to help send a local church group to Haiti, and to raise awareness of issues that still linger there long after the massive 2010 earthquake.
It’s part of a national Boys & Girls Clubs of America project called “After the Cameras Leave.”
The Greenwood group is raising money for Epic Life Church’s “Hands on Haiti” group of 17 young adults who will go to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, in March, to help the Haitian people rebuild homes, schools and churches.
The event features Haitian appetizers and a silent auction of items donated by local businesses. It is at the Boys & Girls Club at 8635 Fremont Ave. N. from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25. Tickets are $10.
To purchase tickets by phone, contact Averi at Epic Life Church, 206-552-9586. Tickets will also be available at the door.
