Asher & Bailey opens on corner of 77th and Greenwood

by | Nov 3, 2011

Asher & Bailey, which makes custom furniture, bags, chaps, boots, and pretty much whatever else you want, recently opened at 7700 Greenwood Ave. N.
Owned by husband and wife Tracy Marik and Mimi Lefebvre, Asher & Bailey recently moved from Monroe, where it’s been for the last three years. The shop is named for two of  their dogs.

Tracy Marik and Mimi Lefebvre show off their wall of textiles, custom-made chaps and Tracy’s personal favorite, the giant eyeball.
“We make furniture and handbags. Yesterday, I made pirate boots for a Seafair Pirate,” Lefebvre explains of the varied nature of her work. “It’s customer ‘whatever!’”
They have created custom furniture for The Red Door, Sambar and Le Gourmand in South Phinney/East Ballard. They can repurpose your textiles or furniture into something new, or start from scratch. They also make custom chaps, steel furniture, and are happy to display any artist’s artwork. Everything you see inside is for sale.

Offbeat artwork for sale.
They’re both originally from Seattle, Tracy from Phinney Ridge and Mimi from Lake City, and they now live in Lake City. Lefebre says they love the Phinney-Greenwood neighborhood, and have already met so many people and shop owners who have stopped in to welcome them.
“Our lives are here,” Lefebvre said. “We missed all our friends. And this neighborhood is so fun. I love it.”
The shop also sells Voluspa candles, Loloi carpets, Archipelago bath products and Butter London.
“This is how we always explain it: It’s just our favorite stuff,” she said.

The store will be having its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 11 from 4-8 p.m. Stop by for food and beverages.
Asher & Bailey is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and Tuesdays by appointment. Phone is 206-495-5383.
