Violet Soul boutique closing

September 12th, 2011 · No Comments

Violet Soul, a women’s clothing boutique at 7102 Greenwood Ave. N., is closing its doors on Sept. 20.

Violet Soul originally opened in the Fini Condos at North 68th Street and Greenwood Avenue North under the name Tarah Jade in June 2010. Deborah Stone took over the business from her partner and changed the name in January, then moved to a new location just a few blocks away in April.

Stone tells us the economy was the main factor in her decision to close.

“I will miss my customers and neighbors in the Phinneywood area, and I am sorry to be another casualty of the poor economy, but I have to put my family first and move forward,” she wrote in an email.

Violet Soul will be open from 12-6 p.m.  Tuesday through Friday, and 12-5 p.m. Saturday.

Everything is on clearance, from 30-80 percent off, including sterling silver and gem stone jewelry, leather belts made in Italy, hand woven scarves, cotton and bamboo clothing. All fixtures and display items are also for sale.

Credit cards are only being accepted until Thursday, after that all sales will be cash only.

From her email:

All purchases are final. Anyone with store credit is urged to redeem it prior to September 20, credit will expire once the store is closed.

Deborah would like to thank her great landlord, Dick Powesland, and encourage anyone looking for commercial space on Greenwood Ave to take a look at the 1200+ sf space next the her shop at 7102 Greenwood Ave that is currently for rent. “He has been so supportive of my business…it was nice dealing with someone who is a straight shooter and honest business person.” Deborah is available to show the other space during business hours or by appointment. Her space has been rented and a new business will open in October at that location.
