King County donating used van to Phinney Neighborhood Association

The King County Council today agreed to donate used county vans to several community organizations, including the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA).
The PNA will use its van to transport children to and from school as part of its PNA Kids! program, as well as Greenwood Senior Center outings.
The county also is donating a van to the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, to transport Native American elders to Daybreak Star in Magnolia’s Discovery Park for hot lunches four days a week; and another van to the Bayview Retirement Community.
From the press release:

The retired vans have been part of Metro Transit’s vanpool fleet for at least six years and have reached the end of their service life. When the vans reach this age, they are considered surplus as they are no longer cost effective for the county to operate.
