Farmers Market, beer benefit, live music and cemetery tour around Phinney-Greenwood this weekend

There’s a little something for everyone this weekend in Greenwood and Phinney Ridge. Here are a few highlights; you can always check our Events calendar for more.
The Phinney Farmers Market is from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Fresh produce, chocolates, bread, pasta, meat, flowers, pizza and more.
Naked City Brewery & Taphouse, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N., is hosting a fundraiser for nonprofit writing center 826 Seattle. For every pint of the limited edition pale ale “826 Luminosity” sold on Friday, Naked City will donate $1 to 826 Seattle. 826 Luminosity will be available only on Friday.
Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Café, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents The Local Strangers, playing alt-country originals, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. And on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. it’s Night of the Living Vinyl with host Scott Farley of KBCS. Bring your favorite discs to share. Free; food and drink (including beer and wine) available.
Sweet Lou’s, 820 NW 85th St., presents Northwest bluegrass by Portland band Renegade Stringband, from 8-10 p.m. Friday.
If you’re driving downtown, be aware that the Seattle Marathon 10K Race will close some city streets from about 8-11 a.m. Saturday. The race starts at Mercer and 2nd Avenue NW and ends at the Seattle Center. Neighborhood bus routes 5, 28 and 358 will be rerouted in that area.
A bit north of Greenwood is the Foss Farmers Market, at the Foss Village courtyard, just off North 130th Street and 1st Avenue NW, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Fresh produce, flowers, handmade crafts. Cash or check only.
The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) is leading a tour of Evergreen Washelli Cemetery , 11111 Aurora Ave. N., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $15 for MOHAI members, $20 for the general public.
And just after the weekend, Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting a party to officially open the new Golden Gardens Play Area, from 5-6 p.m. Monday. Some pirates will storm the new pirate-themed playground, and there’ll be live maritime songs by Watch the Sky.
