Police catch assault and robbery suspect early this morning

Seattle Police captured an assault and robbery suspect early this morning in Greenwood. From the SPD Blotter:

On 8-12-11, just shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers responded to the 8500 block of Fremont Av N to a citizen report of a woman screaming. Before officers arrived, the screaming woman ran away. The reporting citizen gave officers a suspect description that the screaming woman provided before she ran off.
A suspect was located at N. 87/Fremont Av N. Numerous items of evidence were around him and in his nearby vehicle. Other officers located the screaming woman. The victim stated she had been downtown with the suspect and they came to the Fremont area to “party”. The suspect wanted to have sex but the victim did not. The suspect then hit the victim, tried to rape her and stole her purse.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the North Precinct. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded to the SPD processing room. The suspect was booked into King County jail for investigation of Attempted Rape and investigation of Robbery.
