The King County Council has announced that on Monday it will approve a temporary $20 congestion reduction charge to help fund Metro for two years. The charge will keep metro from cutting a proposed 17 percent of its service, or 600,000 hours.
The service reductions would have hit Phinney Ridge and Greenwood hard, reducing or eliminating service on every route through the neighborhood, including the 5, 28, 48 and 358.
