Greenwood-Phinney Chamber launching ‘DoPhinneywood’ website to market neighborhood

by | May 25, 2011

The Greenwood-Phinney Chamber of Commerce has spent the better part of a year working on a way to better market the neighborhood to bring customers into shops, restaurants and art galleries. The result is a new marketing website – DoPhinneywood.com – which will launch at the end of June.

What the Greenwood-Phinney Chamber of Commerce’s new DoPhinneywood.com home page may look like.
(DoPhinneywood.com is not affiliated with PhinneyWood, although PhinneyWood is a member of the chamber. Chamber officers decided on the “DoPhinneywood” moniker because they felt that PhinneyWood had established a good brand for the neighborhood, and they asked our permission to use the name. Note that the “w” is lowercase in the Chamber’s website name, while it’s capitalized in ours.)
Current and new Chamber members can sign up by May 31 to be included in the new DoPhinneywood.com website, which will be more user-friendly than the current site. Interactive profiles will include expanded descriptions of each business, address, phone and website, plus their logo and two pictures.
Businesses will be listed under the following categories (they can be listed in two categories if necessary):

  • Arts & Culture
  • Eat & Drink
  • Health & Beauty
  • Retail Shop
  • Community Services
  • Professional Services

New membership dues rates:

  • 0-20 employees: $120/year
  • 20-40 employees: $180/year
  • 40+ employees: $240/year
  • Non-profit service: $75/year

Current members who are in the middle of their membership year will receive prorated member dues information later, after entering their profile information for the new website.
Chamber dues help support neighborhood business communications, after-hours networking, community events such as the Artwalk, Greenwood Seafair Parade, Summer Streets and Safe Halloween Trick-or-Treat, and neighborhood beautification efforts. Chamber members also receive discounts from select other Chamber members.
