A stranger’s kindness

by | Mar 15, 2011

We received a note from Gabi, who wanted to thank a young man for helping her find her young son who wandered off yesterday.

I was at Licton Springs Park today with my two kids when my son (aged 6) slipped away from me. The park is swampy and it was flooded with water, and I panicked when I couldn’t see him. I called out his name, but he didn’t answer. I was frantically running around trying to find him. As I got to the edge of the park I saw this young gentleman (twenty some years old) pull up with his car. He got out of his car and asked me if I was looking for a little boy. I said yes, and he told me that he saw a little boy walking by himself down the street close to the park. I asked if he’d give us a ride to where he saw him. We found my son a couple of blocks away walking on the street (making his way to his school).
I did say thank you, but my husband and I would like to thank him again. We would love to get this gentleman at least a Starbucks card to show our appreciation. Really, I cannot say how grateful we are for his act of kindness!
If you are this young man or you know who this person is, please email us at: [email protected]
